As it has been a month that I have owned the house on Euclid I have started naming things (not just my awesome ladder: Pippy)

The room that was the parlor back in the day that there were rooms called parlors, that was the master bedroom that was going to be the guest room and then was going to be a media room will be the Winter Room based on the color scheme that I plan to paint it in.  Apparently colors used in bungalows were picked to match their natural environments so the walls will be a gray blue and the trim white to look like a Wisconsin winter. I can’t wait to tell someone that they will be staying in the Winter Room for the weekend.

this is a view of the winter room with the closet that was removed. With the purple trim still attached.

Bedroom one I have started to call the De-nailing Room, as it has been used for that purpose. (removing nails from trim boards)  I think it will need a sign.

There is a marker written sign at the entrance to the man cave that says Crashden, but they either forgot the h or the d because it is just a bunch of squiggles in the center of that word.  So I had thought that the house would get some alliteration with bungalow in it, like beloved or some such sweet cute name, but instead it will be CRASѯEN, and all the ѯ is suppose to be a h and d written in the same space.

Monday 10/29- remove door trim that was painted in the hallway

Tuesday- meet with the insulation guy, I really hate insulation, at least trying to understand what I need, every one has an opinion and at least half of them are wrong. Then it was Bryna’s birthday celebration! Which is a good story that you should ask them about.

Wed- Jenny came over and we worked on getting loose stuff off the living room walls (happy Halloween! Luckily it was not that scary)

Thursday- Scott, John and Bryna came over and we knocked out projects. The paint door frame in the winter room, the boards around the top of the Living Room, trim in the stairway- though this is still causing me grief, loose paint on the ceiling of the denailing room, floors were scraped, stew was eaten, and we were all home at a reasonable hour. And John and Bryna dropped off a dishwasher!

Friday- Dad came down.  I know we did some work, but I can’t remember what.

Saturday was a big day, we didn’t just add to the scrap wood pile, we took pieces out to fix things… very exciting! We fixed walls and shimmed outlet boxes, tried out the gyro place, and cleaned the space in the floor around the walls.  Dad worked on wiring the some of the last outlets in the bedrooms. We laid the first room with red rosen paper for the plaster guys.

Bedroom 1 (De Nailing room) ready to be plastered and textured.

same room view of the window

Sunday- more of the same, hole patching and shimmed outlets.
