Andrew's Closet

Bedroom three is the one where I stole half of its closet to make a storage place in the bathroom. (which also has not been completed but as you can imagine between a fruitful garden and sailing there just isn't a lot getting done)  So before Andrew moves in (in a couple of months) I need to get a few things finished, one being the closet rod.

Well it might be overkill but I stained and varnished the closet rods for bedroom 3.

The end pieces installed very easily.  The trickiest part was cutting the rod to the proper length.  Bryna had told me to subtract some because it has to make it around the brackets.  So I measure the bottom one first but install the top first.

And surprise, the bottom one is too short for the top. But it does fit in the bottom though a bit longer wouldn't hurt (much to my dismay)

But they are in. Then I went for a run, then I was tired.

Problem: Too much Cauliflower

Solution: Pickle it for future bloody Marys

Stacy brought over 6 jars and we still only needed half of a massive cauliflower plant.

We also chopped up some onions, garlic, celery and hot peppers, but I didn't have any carrots.  Each jar got one bay leaf added and the typical brine (1 cup vinegar to 1 tbsp. pickling salt, we needed 7 cpus for all of the jars).  and once that is all in a couple drops of oil on top.

Stacy also gave be some good tips for canning so all of the jars sealed. Then found a home in the basement.
